Nationally Renowned Nutritionist “Dr. Ro” Advises Women To “Unleash the Whole You” With Multi-city Media Tour and Wellness Campaign
June 24, 2005 -- Dr. Rovenia Brock, aka, “Dr. Ro,” the most renowned and recognized African American nutritionist and author of the national best-seller, Dr. Ro’s Ten Secrets to Livin’ Healthy (Bantam-Dell Publishing) is launching a new “Unleash the Whole You” nutrition and health campaign for women that includes a multi-city media tour featuring on-air fashion shows and “Unleash” VIP Pamper Suites in select markets for some of the nation’s most influential women. The purpose of the campaign is to generate awareness among women about how lifestyle changes can help them realize their bodies’ whole potential by approaching health, nutrition and beauty “The Ro Way,” all at once — inside and out.
“For years, we have heard women say if they look good…they feel good,” said Dr. Ro. “My advice to women takes a completely opposite approach. I believe that feeling good inside is actually the first and most crucial step to looking good outside.
“When a woman stands in front of a mirror, unhappy with her reflection, it’s really about the conscious choices she has made about the kinds of foods and substances she has allowed inside her body that ultimately translate into what she sees on the outside.”
The “Unleash the Whole You” campaign kicks off in July in Dallas, Texas, in conjunction with Dr. Ro’s participation as facilitator of The Wellness Area at the 2005 EBONY Black Family Reunion Tour (EBFRT). The tour, an interactive family reunion that is open to the public, provides free lifestyle activities and entertainment for the entire family. EBFRT runs for three months and stops in eight U.S. cities including Houston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Charlotte and Atlanta. The “Unleash” media tour will continue in many of the same markets.
